Saturday on the farm....

On Saturday we went to my Grandparents farm and helped brand and immunize the cows. We left early that morning and drove to the Roosevelt. When we are arrived, the fun began....

When I was little, we would always come and help them do this every spring. Sense Adam and I have been married, we have been too busy to be able to come out and help. So this was Adam's first experience with the whole thing. He jumped right in and helped as much as he could.

He was able to give some of the calfs their shots.

Here is Adam calf sitting while we were getting the bigger cows through. Doesn't he look so cute just hanging out?!

This is my uncle Dean and Grandpa taking a break.

Amanda (Jason's GF) and Jason on a face off. (Amanda with the shot and Jason with a whip).

My aunt Ann Marie (talking on her cell phone) trying to be a cowgirl, but she is still a city girl!

Jason is trying to shock Amanda. (Don't worry they were not on or charged)

Adam took this picture while we were on our way home.

The trip was a short 4 hours long. But we had things to do on our house, so we had to get back. I am glad that Adam had the chance to see what the farm life is like.
I spent a lot of time on the farm growing up. My brothers and I would spend our summers and most of the weekends on the farm. I loved it! We would help with the farm work. Well I would mostly help my Grandma with the house work. It sounds like I did not like it, but I did, mostly because I was able to spend time with my Grandma. Then once the work was done, we would head off on the four and three wheelers to the sand duns and and play steal the flag or just drive around. Sometimes we would go to the Uinta's for a drive and to fish. I have a lot of great memories!!! I wish I was still able to go out as much as I use to, but I am not little anymore. I have too much to worry about here in my crazy life.

Note: No animals were harmed or injured during this process.

Oh, how I am so glad that I never had to go out and do that in Roosevelt! Props to Adam (and Amanda) for getting their hands dirty.

Sounds like some really fun memories. You'll have to make it a tradition for your kids. As for me, I'll just stick to eating it...
