A little of this and little of that

Time to do some updating.

Sunday, December 2, 2012
Adam was called to be the Scout Master in our new ward. Yes, he was the Scout Master in our last ward as well. He had about a 3 week break. The first week we started going to the new ward the current Scout Master was called into the Stake Presidency. And at the moment, I knew they would call Adam in. It took 3 weeks to call him because our Bishop doesn't like to give members the same callings that they already have
had. So he took Adam off the list when he found out his previous calling. But no one on the list felt right. So they put him back on the list and within a few days everyone in the Bishopric knew it was to be Adam. Adam loves this calling. He loves working with the youth. I think it is because he is still young at heart.

December 6-8th, 2012
We had the opportunity to have our niece and 2 nephews come stay with us while their parents went out of town. Thursday night we stayed at their house because they had school the next day. I went to work while Adam drove car pool and took them to school. Later that night they came and spent the night at our place. We made homemade pizza and cookies! We also played hide and go seek. They had lots of more places to hide this time because of our new house. Man! We have some gigantic closets and cubbards those kids and Adam could hide in.

December 11, 2012
We closed on our Townhome this day. It was kind of sad but at the same time a relief that everything worked out. Our appraisal came in at $200 more then what we were asking! We couldn't have felt more  blessed. Later that night we went and took pictures of the empty home and remembered all the good times and all the things we did.

New house numbers and mailbox

New A/C and heat pump

New tree and plants

Adam picked these handles for the front and back doors.
I didn't like them at first, but they grew on me.

Back porch new plants

New blinds and Adam cased all the windows

New water heater. I remember when we first got this, I took a jetted bath because I could finally fill it up all the way. It was so nice. We never ran out of hot water. The good life.

Wood shelf Adam custom made

New plugs

Crown molding Adam and I both loved

Vanity light that started out nickle and some how ended up gold. The lights did something to it. Kind of weird but funny at the same time.

Dim-able lights in all the bedrooms and bathroom

Cool light on the wall up the stairs

Fans in each bedroom

track light in bathroom

New doors. Loved these! Adam picked these

indoor handles

Curtains and rod in master bathroom

Master closet that fit all my clothes and shoes!!

custom selving

Vanity Adam and his brother made. Loved it!

Two weeks before we moved out, Adam finally finished the skylight. Funny it took selling this place to get little things finished.

tall, deep drawers

Adam made the mirror frame

miss this jetted tub just a little......

These shelves took Adam a really long time to put up. The wall was not square at all. He about threw them out the window he was so frustrated. But they looked nice once they were completed.

The vanity we built out of a kitchen cart from Ikea.
Every time we go there Adam points out our old vanity.

miss the convection oven function

one large sink

Adam put these together. They were only suppose to only have lights, but he was able to put 8 up. I remember driving around going to a few different stores looking for these straw looking things to go over the wires so they wouldn't touch to make this all work.

This fun light i found at a place called bukkoos. It was a place that sold items that were returned from online vendors. We got this light, out kitchen sink, 1/2 bath sink and faucet. I wish the place was still around so we could find cool things for our new home.

December 13, 2012
We handed over the keys to the new owners of the Townhome. When we gave them the keys, the couple both started to cry. This is the first place they ever have lived in that they will own instead of rent. They loved everything about it. It was a lot easier to walk away that night. Every now and then we will drive by or go and see friends and think back on all the memories but we don't miss that part of our lives.

December 14, 2012
We decided to celebrate that everything worked out well on the selling of our townhome and I really wanted to see the lights. So we headed downtown for the night.

We first had dinner at The Cheesecake Factory @ City Creek

Watched the fire and water show @ City Creek

This was the first time we saw the fire!

Then we walked around Temple Square.

Sorry this picture is just all me! But I have to add pictures of us every now and then.

I love going to Temple Square during Christmas! It really helps put everything into perspective.

Christmas Eve

Beautiful snow storm. View from our large front window.

We spent Christmas Eve at Adam's brother's house. We have brunch, appetizers and dinner. We were in charge of the appetizers so this was our spread! Yummy food for sure!

Later that night Adam and I opened our presents to each other. He spoiled me! Of course I didn't take any pictures. We also finished packing because we headed to Texas  the next morning.

December 25, 2012-January 1, 2013

We went to Texas to see my family as well as to go to my brother's wedding. We flew out early Christmas morning. We arrived just in time for Christmas lunch and present time! After that we decided to do a family picture. Here is what we ended up with.

But we also had some funny ones before we got one that would work!

Love Mason's "Cheese"

Who gave Carson gum? Silly kid!

Every time I go to Texas, we always have to go to Taco Cabana.
Love this place. Not sure why, but I do! This was our lunch while we were running errands and picking up flowers for the wedding.

On December 28th, my brother got married in the San Antonio Temple to Jen. So happy for them! My mom and I did all the flowers and I also did Jen's hair! I love to do floral arranging and hair!
That would be one of my dream jobs!

It was a little windy.....

I was a bridesmaid.

We almost dropped Jason! I was laughing pretty hard, as you can see.

We had such a wonderful time in Texas. I wish we could have stayed longer but you know how it goes.

Here we are in the airport waiting to head home. We bought new western shirts while we were there. So cute! Also, if you look close in the right corner, you can see a guy. Well that guy is the head golf coach at the U. I use to work with him. It was funny to see him. He didn't recognize me....weird.

January 6, 2013
I got called to be the CTR 7 Primary teacher! I love it! I have 6 kids and the best teaching partner ever! Her name is D'Laina and we are becoming great friends! I am also learning so much from her and the kids. I think that is why I received this calling.

I made homemade chicken noodle soup one night.
Super delicious and was perfect for a colder, snowy night.

January 29, 2013
I turned 28! It was just another day for me with work and life. My work decorated my office and surprised me or scared me as they jumped out at me when I walked in. Adam made me the best dinner ever! Did I ever tell you he is an amazing husband and cook? Well he is! He also bought me pearl earrings to go with my necklace. He is super cute!

February 7, 2013

I got new monitors at work

AND

Adam installed a dishwasher!
Yes, my house was a super big disaster and you probably wont
ever see it like this ever again. So enjoy! ;)

February 8, 2013

Went to the Jazz game with my family and Adam. It was an ok game. We had awesome seats. They were cheap! It has been a really long time since I have been to one, so we decided it would be fun to go. And it was nice to see some of my family I don't see often enough.

February 14, 2013

Did you know 9 years ago Adam proposed? Crazy Huh!?!
Adam made me the best dinner ever! He is just awesome!
This year was pretty low key. Just dinner and a movie at home.
Those are the best nights ever!

February 15, 2013
This whole day was spent putting floral arrangement together at work. (Again, my dream job) We were hosting a bridal show and one of our event coordinators decided to set a room like it was a wedding and reception. I did all the flowers for all the tables.

They turned out well. I was so proud! ;)

Here is what we have been doing so far in our home.

Cleaned and organized the garage.

Adam painted the small bedroom

Picture of some of our back yard we are slowly cleaning up

We trimmed all the fruit trees.
We also had to remove a few because they were not doing so well.

Lots of flowers are starting to come up!
We have no idea what is planted so everything is a surprise to us!

We ripped everything out of the front yard. This is a before picture.

Picture of Adam's hard work of ripping out the big front trees.

What it looks like now. We have a landscape architect working on plans for the front and back yard. Once we get those back, we will start working on landscaping our yard. You are probably wondering why we ripped everything out when we aren't quit ready to do the full landscape. Well it was because I did not like the trees and bushes, AND they were full of spiders and nests....I wanted them out before they all started hatching. Now do you understand? Ha ha!

March 21, 2013

I got another nephew, Hudson! Super cute! Congrats to Dustin & Maren!

Can't wait to meet him in June!

 March 25-29th
This is what I was doing all week! My boss and assistant put this on my closed door so no one would bug me. I had so much to do and no time to do it. That was a crazy few months and weeks! Go glad it is all over. Until next year.

This is me relaxing a few days after. Finally was able to. I was working long and late days. Even would bring work home so I could see Adam for a few hours before I had to start my day all over again.

March 30, 2013
We ordered two chairs in January and they came over the weekend! So excited. Love them. We also got a new rug. Our home is slowly coming together. We are not really going to be doing anything else for awhile until we have more money.

Well there you have the longest post EVER! At least I am caught up for now.
