Beautiful, warm, sand and stuffed

We headed to Gainsville, Florida for Thanksgiving this year. Adam's sister, Ceanne, and brother in law, Dave, are living there for a little bit while Dave finishes up a fellowship at the University of Florida. We had never been to Florida nor have I visited them...so we headed off!

The night we left it was snowing. I was so excited to be heading off to some warmth! Our flight left Sunday morning at 1:00AM...4 hour flight to Atlanta, 1 hour lay over, 45 mins to Gainsville arriving at 9:30AM!

We had arrived, after only having  a few restless hours of sleep on the planes, this is what you look like after taking the red eye! Ceanne picked us up from the airport and let us sleep back at her house for a few hours while they were at church...we were so tired and the kids were so excited to see us. Lets just say Adam's nick name was "sleepy head". He could not stay awake for the life of him!

After resting up and hanging out for a few hours,
we decided to check off one thing from our "have to do" list.

The University of Florida Football Stadium

The Warner family.

Don't mind our hair, that is what happens in the humidity.

The stadium is sooo BIG! I would love to be able to go to a game there,
can you imagine how loud it would be?!

Monday night for family home evening, we decorated the Christmas tree.

Orihana

Spencer

Eva

Ian

Ian was such a funny kid. (He is only 2 and he is taller and bigger then our 4 year old nephew!)

These are alot of the looks he would give us, this was only the first day though!

"Moooommmm"
(Adam could not stop laughing everytime he did this.)

Tuesday was another day to check off from the "have to do" list.

THE  ATLANTIC OCEAN!!!

Everyone in and ready to go....wait, where is Ian. Ha Ha! ;)

It was  only a 45 minuet drive to St. Augistine.

We stopped and had lunch by this awesome light house.

Then headed to the beach! First stop was St. Augistine beach, it was ok,
so we checked out another beach, Cresent Beach.

Ahhh...sand in between my toes, what could be better?

They were sooo excited, even if you can't tell from there faces.

Ian absolutely LOVED it!

Orihana found a star fish. She thought it was dead until on the ride home, it started to move. We asked her if she wanted to take it back or kill it to keep it...she kept it! Ha ha!

The ocean was beautiful and warm.

Everyone was having a great time!

Orihana and Spencer went out pretty far, Ian was mad he could not go out there with them.

I am in LOVE.....

A  fun video to show you how much fun we really were having and maybe to make you jealous ;)

Wednesday we hung out and prepared for Thanksgiving!

We had Thanksgiving with not only our family, but with a few families in their ward.
And yes, we had it at the church.

First to start, make your place matt decoration...turkeys!

This one is mine!

And this sad looking one is Adam's!

Right before the big feast!
I wish I had taken a picture of all the food; 2 turkeys, huge bowl of mashed potatoes, gravy,
homemade rolls (Dave's family secret receipe), green bean casserole, stuffed mushrooms,
and so much more!

I was too full and too tired to take anymore pictures. The kids played games while the adult chatted and played a few games as well.

Friday

This was our last day in Florida.(Well that is what was planned-keep reading)
We decided we needed one fun day with the kids! We went outside and enjoyed the awesome weather and rode scooter or razers, not sure what the kids call them these days- in my days they were scooters!

Adam and Spencer doing it low ride style

Ian

I even gave it shot, pretty fun.

Adam fixing a broken sprinkler head for Ceanne.

Orihana and I , we ran to the store and to the mall to get a few suviners.

Eva and I

Cute Ian! He warmed up to us!

They have an alarm system, Ian opened the front door "front door open" and off he went, this is how Adam brought him back into the house!

We had alot of laughs the last few moments we were there!

Our plane that was to take us home...um ya...NOT! We sat in the airport for almost 4 hours until they canceled our flight. When the plane arrived, they needed to do some maintenance on it "should only take about an hour." An hour goes by...nothing...another hour. We decide to go and see what our flight options were...."if the plane is ready in a half hour, you can get out of Atlanta tonight." The half hour goes by, we go back up and tell them we will fly out tomorrow! Called family in Utah to tell them not to pick us up that night, but to come in the morning. Called Ceanne to see if we could spend one more night with them...of course!

This is our happy face, we get to stay one more night in Florida!

This is a cool alegator made out of cement, rocks and all sorts of other things right out side of the airport.

We went home on Saturday morning and had no problems with the plains. We missed the Utah vs BYU football game, but Adam's brother and our niece had a great time!

I am not sure if we will ever make it back to Florida, but this trip was the best!
Thanks Ceanne for letting us come and crash at your house!
